'Well I wasn’t checking myself and my wife’s sugar every day – but we are doing it every day now, so that we know how we are progressing or going backward! Other than that we are not using very much fat in our food when we cook and we are not using or having any sugar in our tea coffee or anywhere… we used to … used to use a little but now completely cut off. We are using olive oil in our cooking, not the vegetable, but the olive. Sugar - we used to take one each in our tea or coffee but now nothing at all. Wife used to or sometimes still has the artificial sugar, but I don’t at all.' (Diabetes Education – 6 week follow-up)
